The Hartford Athletic are parting ways with coach Omid Namazi, who replaced former head coach Tab Ramos during the season.
The USL club has "initiated a search for a new Head Coach immediately" to lead their team next year, according to a release.
“On behalf of Hartford Athletic, I want to thank Omid for his hard work and commitment to the Club,” said CEO Nick Sakiewicz in the release. “We all wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Namazi was an assistant coach and Director of Scouting when Ramos was the club's head coach. The 2-10-4 record was well below the lofty expectations of the U.S. soccer legend Ramos, so the Athletic fired Ramos midway through the season.
Namazi's extensive coaching background includes stops with US Men's U18 and U20S, The US Women's National Team, the Iranian National Team, and the Houston Dynamo, Ramos' former club.
